Kanai

Sheikah Bard

The character we made is a traveling Sheikah bard named Kanai, and he appears at different times throughout Ocarina Of Time. For this character, we based him on the real life Punk Rock singer Jello Biafra. 

Kanai was born to a loving Sheikah family who had served the Hyrule Royal Family for years, and has also served alongside Impa. One day when he was a child, he went to Castle Town with his mother and father and had stumbled upon a concert playing nearby, and he was really happy upon seeing this show and gave him the motivation to practice and perform his own music.

One day, his parents were called to serve in the Hyrulean Civil War to help with the Hylian army, but they would ultimately perish alongside several other soldiers. When he heard the news of his parents dying in the war, he was devastated. He would then in a fit of rage, find a Shamisen in his parents room that was meant for him as a birthday gift. 

He would later practice more on it and improve his musical skills as a way of coping with his parent's loss, and eventually he'd perfect his craft and start playing for those in Kakariko Village. He would eventually meet and befriend Link and would at times interact with him on his quest, and would help the rest of the remaining Hylians and other Sheikahs in defending Kakariko Village. 

Later when Link defeated Ganon, the people of Hyrule all celebrated and rejoiced in Ganon's defeat. And among those present was Kanai finally fulfilling his dream of playing his own show for all of Hyrule to see.

After these events, Kanai would then depart from Kakariko Village to explore all of the land of Hyrule, and perhaps even forming his own band along the way.
